Today, we hosted a successful masterclass on bamboo farming solutions with Amabanda Uganda.
Farmers gathered to learn how to add value to their own bamboo poles. Instead of only looking to sell raw poles, Amabanda trained bamboo farmers to transform their material into useful products themselves.
The day began with a factory tour, where participants saw firsthand how Amabanda Uganda Limited turns a single bamboo pole into flooring, roofing, or other high-quality applications.
Next, the focus turned to bamboo fencing. Participants learned, hands-on, how to construct durable fences and simple farm structures like chicken or goat houses using their own poles. The vision shared was to explore how value addition can increase your income and resilience as a bamboo grower.
Bamboo Uganda organizes regular Masterclasses with its members — growers like Bijimu Bamboo Farming Services, processors like Amabanda, and designers like Studio Akeka . Together, we share knowledge to strengthen Uganda’s bamboo value chain.
Beyond training, Bamboo Uganda also hosts showcase events, where members can display and sell their products while raising awareness about the endless possibilities of bamboo.
