Born from a national dialogue

During the Uganda National Bamboo Dialogues, hosted by Bamboo Uganda in collaboration with Enabel, industry players came together to assess the needs of Uganda’s bamboo sector.

The sessions resulted in five focus pillars for the coming decade. Each pillar includes activities that industry players identified as necessary to develop Uganda’s bamboo sector. These projects now require funding and implementation.

Bamboo Uganda has created an enabling environment for effective cohorts and collaborations to develop. The Government of Uganda reinforced the National Bamboo Strategy during these meetings, stating that it wants to support the industry’s growth and help meet the targets set out in the National Bamboo Strategy 2019–2029.
