From ancient forests to artificial intelligence — bamboo just got its glow-up.
What an honor to meet World Bamboo Organization ‘s (WBO) CEO Susanne Lucas in Boston yesterday.
Our General Manager Robert Ssemakula, Bcom, LLM. and the WBO team sat down and agreed: it’s time to push bamboo harder, smarter, and further.
We’re grateful and energised that Susanne is joining the Bamboo Uganda Advisory Board, and BU is joining the international team building WBO’s new World Bamboo Science AI.
As human data curators for this Asian Development Bank-sponsored project, we’ll help shape the prototype and give real-world feedback from the ground in Uganda.
Why does this matter? Because bamboo has fed, housed, and sustained people for centuries, yet it’s still misunderstood. This AI will cut through myths, close info gaps, and give investors, farmers, and businesses bankable data they can trust.
More than tech — this is about jobs, restoring land, and proving that a green economy can be profitable. Grateful to partner with WBO in putting bamboo where it belongs: at the center of our climate and economic future 🌱
