Building roofs with bamboo, enables you to get really creative when it comes to shapes. Whenever you see a building with curves & round roofs, you bet it’s because of bamboo.
During the last Design & Build masterclass from Studio Akeka, represented by Sanne Eekel , Robert van Kats and Rein Van der Geest, young architects and engineers learned how to apply these techniques and integrate bamboo in their work.
Oh, and don’t doubt the strenght. Combining numerous bamboo splits into 1 bundle, creates super strong, curvy beams. Just make sure you get your calculations right.
