We truly felt that the design community is embracing bamboo. Over 35 architects and engineers joined us for the Design & Build with Bamboo Masterclass. We’re grateful to Studio Akeka for leading this session. Everyone was eager to learn how Akeka is creating this beautiful lodge in Bwindi, and how the various techniques can be applied to their own projects.
Over 100 architects have now learned about using bamboo in construction. A lack of knowledge about bamboo remains one of the key bottlenecks in the industry. That is why we organize masterclasses in 3 different clusters: Bamboo Farming, Bamboo Processing and Design & Build. The more people learn about this beautiful and versatile material, the more widely bamboo will be used.
